I am not a "normal" coffee drinker. That is, I can't just drink coffee with cream and sugar. But I LOVE a white chocolate mocha from Starbucks. However, that is not in our budget except for special treats. I've experimented for awhile with making ice coffees at home and was never able to make it taste as good as what I would buy at a coffee shop. Not too long ago, I found a great iced coffee/frappacino type drink recipe that I really liked.
I did have to change the recipe a little bit to better suit our tastes...
We usually have coffee left over from the morning. So I just turn it off and leave it there til the afternoon. The recipe calls for room temp coffee, so I try not to have to brew a fresh pot. Also, if we make an extra large pot of coffee, then I will store the leftovers in the fridge and use it throughout the week for my iced coffee concoctions.
3/4 cup of room temp or cold coffee
3/4 cup of skim milk
2 tsp sugar (or whatever you like)
1 TBS chocolate syrup (recipe called for 2 TBS, that was too sweet for us)
1 TBS flavored coffee creamer (my favorite is Coffee Mate Italian Sweet Cream)
3 Ice Cubes
Pour it all into a cup with a sealed lid and shake well. I use my Magic Bullet cups with lids or a mason jar with a lid. Shake really well until it is all mixed up, this also makes the top a bit frothy, and stick a straw in it. It is really good!
I TRY to make mine a tad bit not so bad for me. I use organic coffee and milk, sucanat instead of sugar, organic chocolate syrup, then I blow all of that with the highly processed and artificial flavored coffee creamer :) If anyone has some suggestions for healthy flavored coffee creamer, please pass it along.

IF anyone has a suggestion? Hmm...how about vanilla flavored coconut milk? Or any sort of milk substitute (hemp, almond, rice) with an extra dab of vanilla extract for oomph...or even a bit more sugar if you need the super-sweet taste.
Me? I add homemade marshmallows & then melt them on top! NOT a healthy bev over here either!
Great suggestion, thanks!
Meant to say, too, that it sounds good, and I'll give it a try with my espresso + extra milk as soon as it REALLY warms up around here ;)
