"Hey Mommy, guess what?"
"What, Zachary?"
"Do you know something about Star Wars?"
"Yes, a little"
"Do you know about Darsidius (spelling?)?"
"No, I don't know about Darsidius."
"Oh, he is a really bad guy."
"Hmm."
"Hey Mom, guess what?"
"What Zachary?"
"Do you know I love to play the Wii?"
"Yes, I think I knew that."
"Star Wars Legos is like so awesome."
"Hey Mom, can you fill my water cup up?"
"No, you fill it up yourself."
"Hey Mom..." This goes on for another 5 minutes. Meanwhile, I'm trying to get everything ready to leave the house to go to an attorney's office to sign will papers. And I have to take 2 of little guys with us, fun! So after the non-stop conversation and non stop hey moms, I had had enough.
"Hey Mom?"
"What Zachary, WHAT???"
"Um, I love you."
Heart softens, guilt creeps in.
"Thank you, Zachary, I love you too."
We have a few more Hey Moms. Irritation begins to creep in again as I see what time it is, Andrew is still asleep and needs to be waken and changed, and car needs to be warmed.
"Hey Mom?"
"Zachary, what buddy?" Irritation clearly resonating in my voice.
"You look so beautiful."
Hearts melts again. I kiss his sweet pale cheeks and lovingly tell him to buckle up in the car.
Zachary can wear you down with his constant conversation and he has the most keen sense of when he has gone too far. He knows just the precise moment to throw in a softener statement.
Later on in the afternoon is when I realized just how much he played me earlier. Pause, Steve is always reminding me that they play me like a fiddle.
As Zachary has finished his after lunch poopy, he calls out that he is done. I told him I would be there in a minute, I was right in the middle of helping Andrew and Jacob with something. Guess he didn't want to wait because I see his naked bootie in the hall only 15 seconds later. "Zachary, get back in the bathroom. I'm coming." Zach proceeds to sit on the carpet. His bottom has not been wiped yet. I start freaking out to get up off the carpet quickly, quickly, quickly. He turns to me and said, "Hey Mom, you look so beautiful." To which I replied, "I do not!"

This sounds exactly like my life!
HA!! Laughing out loud!
I could've written that! This Zachary...and Jackson. They need to meet. Too, too alike. Or, maybe they shouldn't meet unless we're well-rested and ready for an all-out frenzy? :)
