Thank you for viewing the chronicles of our lives. This blog allows us to share our lives openly, express our love for our family, preserve our family memories, share opinions, insights, thoughts, and articles, and keep our long distant friends and families updated on our everyday lives.
Where it all began...
It all began the summer of 1990 when I was 12 and Steve was 13. You do the math on our ages now! We "dated" before we were allowed to date, which meant alot of my parents and my now in-laws driving us back and forth everywhere.
Even at that young of an age, we knew that we loved each other. After many break-ups in high school, I followed Steve to college after graduation. Looking back I can say that was one of the best decisions I've ever made. We were together for 4 years through college and Steve proposed while I was was still in graduate school.
A year after I finished grad school, we were married. 3 years later we had our first child. 2 years later we had our 2nd child. And finally 3 years later, we had our 3rd child. So here we are. I married my high school sweetheart and still love him as much today as I did 20 years ago!
In my former life, I was a CPA for an accounting firm in Atlanta. Then I had my first child and my entire perspective on life changed. My dream job became to stay at home with my babies. My goal was to be the best housewife I could be!
For 2 years Steve and I, along with many of our friends, prayed that God would provide a way for me to stay at home. Just before our 2nd child was born, He did just that.
Not a day goes by that I don't thank God for allowing me to stay at home. It was my heart's greatest desire.
We have 3 beautiful boys ages 6,4,1. Having come from a blended family of 4 sisters, the boy thing is completely new to me. I'm learning as I go. Daily I pray to just keep them alive.
If I had lots of spare time, I would enjoy reading, scrapbooking, volunteer work, and women's ministry. However, since I know that in the blink of an eye, I will have time to do all of that and more, my time is filled with wiping noses and bottoms, filling endless water cups, carpooling, reading the same story over and over, playing caribou, listening to stories told from a child's perspective, throwing balls, wrestling, swinging boys by their feet, laughing, sharing in acheivements and milestones, praying, and loving my babies.
In the small spaces of time that are left after fulfilling my mommy duties, I enjoy baking homemade bread, watching movies with Steve, reading blogs, researching health topics, and reading the latest christian parenting books.
